System wide call off.

Who wants to bet UP's system will magically go down and we won't be able to take our sick day midnight on the 1st????

I love how people think if everyone lays off it will hurt the company. It doesn’t all it does is hurt the fellow employees you work side by side with everyday who want to keep their jobs and earn a paycheck. They now go to work sooner than they are supposed to because the rest of you think you are proving something by laying off. In case you don’t think long term which you obviously don’t, doing this gives the company ground to stand on at the bargaining table when the union is fighting for more time off. The company runs reports daily of how many PS days and other layoffs are used and all it does is give leverage to the company down the road. You’re not hurting the company you’re hurting your fellow co-workers.

Why call off the 1st? All you're gonna do is use a sick day and sc--w yourself on holiday pay for not working you're scheduled days prior and after let alone the holiday... sounds like a company suk as trying to cut costs...
