Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Goodbye REMOTE WORK

Seems like Remote work is going away. Get ready to spend a few hundred extra bucks a month on transportation, food and childcare. Let alone the travel time to and from the office. For those in cities.....add "avoiding getting stabbed on the train by a b-m or cr------d"

I will be spending every single second in the office looking for another Job. I am making a little shy of $200k and am willing to take 50% pay cut to work remote. I will be taking my talents elsewhere.

If you can, get another remote job and work it from the Office. 2 full-time jobs or extra part-time remote. Giving Nielsen 10% of your time. More people than you think are already doing this. Enough is Enough.

It's not enough that you work for Nielsen you also have to suffer doing it.

The plan is to report workers want this because of responses in pulse employee survey. It is not true.

This is strategy to increase attrition without severance.

we don’t have enough office space in nyc. they closed two offices. my department is spread out between four countries, we have to be on video calls regardless all day long. it can’t happen for my area without renting more pricy nyc floor space.

Probably in the USA, not Europe.

Does anyone know if TX employees will be asked to return to office? They closed down the Arlington office as far as I know

People required to come into the office will be notified before end of December 2023. You have until end of March 2024 to decide if you want to quit because of this company decision. Oh they sure want that to happen, trust me.

DO NOT QUIT. Go in take 100 bathroom breaks and get fired to collect your severance. This is a bullying tactic used to get people to quit without PAY.

A month or 2 later, offices will be empty again. Just like the covid shot requirement, many quit and lost out on severance and unemployment benefits. Those who took the shot are now questioning letting an organization force them to do so.

Its better to take sick and personal days and call out, leave of absence without pay...get fired...collect severance than quit. That severance combined with unemployment will hold you down a few months. If you quit. 0 severance and 0 unemployment. DO NOT BE A FOOL. Be an unproductive employee. learn to the play the game folks.

It’s not fear mongering. Sujit announced it in the last gracenote meeting as stated earlier. At this point we don’t know who all will be made to come back but he 100% said places without offices currently would be looking into office options and that we are losing out on “collaborative opportunities” by being remote.

If there's any truth to this, it's most likely US and resouce hub (eg india) focused. The relatively few employees scattered around Europe are largely inconsequential, when it comes to office decisions.

The office capacity in the Newcastle office is so low at this point that they could not ask people back into the office full-time. Don't believe everything on here. Fear mongering is ripe on this page.

"Not fake news. Was announced in the gracenote meeting the other day " - Audio and TAM have not been told to come back to office

This is probably fake news. Nielsen has reduced office capacity too much to bring all employees back into the office and is VERY unlikely to add opex dollars to the budget to lease more space.

I can’t wrap my head around this sh---y decision. They already underpay us and now they want us to commute to an office again? WFH was the only benefit this job had.

There's no way that remote work will be going fully away. There isn't enough office capacity anywhere.
