How do BPX employees feel about the promotion? He has a reservoir background and has risen fairly quickly in the BPX ranks from SVP to COO.
He was also employed by Sandridge along with DL.
Would new global leadership bring new face to BPX ceo?

The frat boy is the most disconnected CEO I've worked for. The culture here is awful, implemented by him from what I gather from veterans here. Everyone is scared to go against the grain and he's surrounded by his groomed yes men/women.
I've watched that guy consistently promote the wrong people and participate in nepotism to the nth degree. He is just like the rest of them. He helped create the culture they now have. He helped create the economic issues they now have. Be careful with this guy. He will do whatever the wind blowing tells him to.
I'm a relatively new employee, but from what I've gathered around the water cooler is that the Sandridge alumni who've been thrusted into leadership roles have been lacking... great at communicating, poor at executing. Jury is still out with KK...
If you think DL left solely because he was fed up with bp management/policies you have a serious misunderstanding of what has been going on
KK is not new to the workings, strengths and weaknesses of bpx and bp. He understands the economics and has significant experience delivering for bp/bpx for the past several years. Look at the numbers and you will see that he has proven to be (and currently is) more economically astute and effective, more engaging and connected to field and to business support operations and the economy of each more than anyone warming a seat at WL, SJS or driving a political agenda from the BOD. If bp wants to improve its economic situation and straighten out its numbing trail of ethical/economic blind wandering, it would do well to use KK as its standard for leaders, or maybe put him in charge. The problem is he will likely get a belly full and leave in disgust like DL did before that happens.
