It has been run over by Hock fan boys and VMW employees who are shocked at having to work for a cult and the cult leader. Some will embrace the cult and others will leave.

But no one cares a sh-t about the 10-15K that just got laid off. I guess for Broadcom folks and Hock we were just garbage that needed to be cleaned out. So many HW companies have tried to do SW. Let's see how this "su-k it till you get juice and then sp-t it out" model works for SW. Just remember WebEx and when they stopped innovating they ended up dealing with Zoom.

It's time to say goodbye to this page and let the BC and remaining VMW BC employees to duke it out.

Great joke! Please check Zoom stock, sure its been really sucessfull. Zoom will soon go into oblivion as no innovation and replaceable product. Selling sugar water.

Some with transition and fte offers will quit. If they quit, it won't be counted in the lay off numbers which will save face for BC. But overall, it will be a reduction in head count which equates to lesser salary expense for the company. HT is quite clever.

VMWare has to get to about 30% of what it is now to be truly profitable. That's how HT and Wall Street sees it.

The numbers that Broadcom is reporting seem ridiculous.

Europe hasn’t received any layoff. Not many layoff in China either. Singapore, Japan are the only biggest offices in Asia outside of India. Looks like the damage there might be 500 or so since most got transition offers or full offers

The first round day 1 layoff isn’t that big. Just over 2000 folks

But yes, by the end of 12 months, wouldn’t be surprised if it increases to 15k

2000 !!! That is a joke. I know entire orgs have been wiped out. Even in PCS. When the whole world wide numbers add up, it will be at least 10-15K or more.

Watch the actual layoff number go up over time including all employees getting a “transitional offer” , 2000 is a nice disguise, add another 0 is more likely a reality over next 12mths
