Thread regarding TransUnion layoffs

One week per year?

Is this correct? One week per year is one of the lowest severances that can be offered. Two is the average, but some offer three and even a month. This is an insult toward loyal employees who have stuck with TU through thick and thin.

So it does seem like ignoring the time to separation date, that there is a max of 26 weeks. My compensation was one week of years of service rounded down, plus an additional amount unspecified by how it was calculated, but a larger number than years of service. But the two combined adding up to 26 weeks.

Is there a reason why the actual dollar amount wasn’t included in the package ?

I think it all depends on State laws and employer has to follow those in case of RIF.

One week per year is the base. Minimum 2 weeks, max 26 weeks. That is just the base. You also get x weeks per job title + prorated bonus + maybe some COBRA cash, maybe another payroll month or two. ESPP is still in play (not really severance, already yours anyway). It all depends on length of service and job title. From previous experience, I would say its about industry average for large corps.

The whole thing is sad! Once TransUnion restructured sales a few years ago I knew it was destined for failure. 30 years ago it was a different place. Even under Jim Pe-k it was tolerable and goals were achievable. Cartwright has proven to be a disaster and I feel so sorry for people who have worked there so long with the goal of retirement. If you make the cut, I'd be looking for different options. Sounds like the whole place might be ripe for a sale soon.

Last active day was yesterday. Separation date is Feb. Been here 2.5 years. Getting 12 weeks severance. I was a director.

I would consult an employment lawyer. Most offer free consultations and can verify if you're getting a fair severance. I would not trust what you've been given right now.

It depends on your title. You get more weeks when you’re in the + leadership roles.
The # of years is a joke. I’m 2weeks shy of hitting another year and they rounded down the number of years in service. What a f—ng joke.

Im getting 16 weeks including 4 weeks after my last active day and separation day, and the 12 weeks of official severance. Been working under 3 years. I’m curious if those who got more severance weeks have a relatively earlier separation day. Mine is in January but I’ve heard people say February or even March for theirs.

I am getting 3.5 months. I am counting the 4 weeks between active and separation dates. I have worked here just under 2 years.
