Thread regarding VMware layoffs

How much fast things change

Just in 2019 VMW was considered to be a prestigious company with very large margin... a "cash cow" like the public opinion was writing or the "little gem" of the Dell Technology group... it was considered almost at the same level of FAANG from newly gratuated IT guys in California... just after 4 years later everything got badly destroyed

Yes. The leadership is non-existent.

Engineers, at least on the core kernel team, are very arrogant and does not work as a team and lacks basic professionalism when interacting with partners. No civility when interacting with partner in n meetings.

When such attitudes are not checked by leaders and management, letting the engineers just carry on doing their own thing, it is bound to go down into spiral. Slowly but surely.

It is a cash cow. Michael Dell is making it out like a bandit.

Thanks to Daddy Dell who now laughs behind the scene for his billions of cash out of this capitalist game.

Blame Magoo, Pat, and the rest of the mod squad for that.

When I joined, around that time, leadership was talking about how lucky we were to get in before VMW reached 200. 4 years later and this company isnt worth a damn.
