Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Time for Legal Action

Hock may have given the EU and Chinese back handlers to push deal through EMEAM employees will not go quietly. We all seeking legal advice and will not sign any document without HR present. Hocks strategy is to restructure EMEA to bare minimum and pay minimum to get rid of employees. Which HR sends an email about redundancy with subject line welcome to BC.

The arrogance of this man who said in his coffee meeting BC is the only company that knows how to sell technology. His proud of making his customers head to Malaysia to collect their products. Yesterday VMware employees told like my way or take the high way.

As a BC employee I fully support Hock that he does not want to continue the perk paradise you apparently had at VMW with 6 times less revenue per employee and 8 times worse cost/revenue ratio. Everyone in VMW EMEA seemed to have a company car, 80% base salary with 20% bonus and made 400% on their targets every year for bonus. If you think this will be continued at all other BC employees expense than you are dreaming!

You will get less base with higher bonus and no car like the rest of us but also annual RSU grants worth 6- figure like you never had in VMW. So take it or leave it but stop whining. You can blame VMW board who did not fix this overspending so that it was more profitable for Dell to sell the company than keeping it without any improvement perspective on share price or profits despite great technology.

You're not entitled to a job set up exactly the way you want it. It's that simple. Start your own company and you can make any rules you want. In the mean time, you're an employee so, yes, it's "my way or the highway". VMware was a great place to work but it was a sh-t stock to own. BC strategy is that we're a great stock to own, and you may or may not like working here but it's your choice either way. I'm a 10+ year VMW employee, I got a BC offer, and I'm staying. If it turns out that I don't like it, then I'll leave for somewhere else. I don't understand any other way of thinking.

Funny that he called their values “touchy feely”. All they translated into is MONEY. There are no values.

Why would I invest in a company with stock if that company doesn't focus on stock value and profit? I think maybe you should work for a private company whom isn't driven by share holders and share holder value.

It is a choice. Not all companies run the same way. What's important is it is a choice that everyone has. What is yours? Broadcom will run its business like it has for the last 20 years of the same model, and stock will go up as usual. Hock states it very clearly. Can't say it is a good or bad thing but you see the product before you buy it. Now, it is your choice. A lot of people work for money and a lot of people choose to work for hugs and parties.

Look, just go to work or find a new job. It really isn't that big of a deal.

Well, he is a massive pos, we already knew this was his strategy as well as forcing people back to the office to get rId of them that way because he knows people relocated. We saw it with the Symantec and ca acquisition. Dell is an even bigger pos for selling us to that thing.

There was one ahe in the coffee talk who actly praised hok tan for his work.. absolute mess of a leader. If the sole goal is stock price and money,I pity the employees staying back.
