Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Happy Xmas and New Year then mass layoffs?

Remember when they promised a raise in October and then laid off many in October?

I feel like they're letting us celebrate the holidays in some fake happiness only to show us the door soon after.

Do you guys get that feeling?

I did it, finally found a new job starting January 1st! To those who are left: your time will come! You'll find something better! And for as long as you remain a poorly-paid Nielsenite or Gracenoter: do the bare minimum, be annoying to your boss, make them fire you so you get severance. Just don't work! Show Paul Singer what an a*$%&$/(/) he is. Make him regret this investment.

Listen y'all, you had David Kenny who was a mostly pathetic CEO, now Karthik Rao who is an arrogant CEO & Nielsen was last bought by a company which can't service the debt. It's a dumpster fire & things are going to continue to slide downhill in 2024. Stop worrying about the inevitable next round of layoffs & start looking for a new job.

Layoff's are part of the fabric at Nielsen & now with probably the worst overall leadership team I have seen in many, many years. You can almost bet that there will be another round of redundancies in January 2024. At this point, Nielsen is only a place to work, if you cannot find a better opportunity ANYWHERE else. Competitors are going to blow us out of the water & soon. If you want any degree of transparency & the possibility of career progression, Nielsen is certainly not it. It has sadly become a shadow of its former self & Nielsen is handling market changes appallingly. Make 2024 a year of professional change for yourself & don't stay alligned with a weak company & with weak leaders who do not care one tiny bit about the average hardworking employee. You're wasting your life here.

Most of us quiet quit in fall 2021 due to mandatory vaxx mandates. If you were at Nielsen while mandatory vaxx occurred you should look up class action lawsuits if you have had negative reactions to the shot.

??? Layoffs last year were 2 days after holiday in 2022. January 11th. Why would you even question this?

re: "Prior to the ongoing GE style RIF cycle that began @ 2008"

The same time the company started its decline.

Here’s the thing. Prior to the ongoing GE style RIF cycle that began @ 2008, I would tell my potential new hires that you would always have a job if you worked hard and produced results. Obviously that had not been true for the last 15 years or the last 3 regimes. Upper Level management continues to be rewarded for its disastrous decision making at the expense of their employees. Ok, now begin working on your 2024 goals for the company.

Annual layoffs have been part of the business plan at Nielsen for 15 plus years. Google Nielsen Layoffs and see all the press reports. There was reprieve during the pandemic. Nielsen leadership is back to frequent layoffs and general hostility towards associates.

Nielsen is not a place to work if you want a career and stability.
