Thread regarding TransUnion layoffs

Anyone else struggling with motivation or survivors guilt??

After the layoffs and knowing im still held accountable to deliver on aggressive deadlines (with less resources...), i'm struggling to care about company commitments. It's all so unrealistic.

Additionally, I'm guilty I'm left but my teammates aren't. So many mixed emotions and don't know how I can cover so many new responsibilities...

Funny... I was going to stop by the office today to collect a few things but didn't want the "survivors" to have to talk to a ghost, just in case they felt badly, which they should not. I'll come back at a less busy time.

Focus on yourself, review your resume, take comfort in the skills you have gained, know that everything will be ok in the end. If they didn't want the collective productivity to drop to near 0 they shouldn't have handled this in the manner that they are. So little actual communication as to what is happening and the whole company is wondering what the state of their employment will be long term. The lack of real communication (not empty/vague words at a townhall) along with a slow pace is going to cost.

What you are experiencing is part of the normal grieving and mourning process. Healing takes time and I am confident that God provides strength. I my faith i am told not to be anxious. It is possible and remain true to whom our work should glorify. For me it is not for mans glory but rather my God's glory in all I do

Agree with last poster. While being laid off is never fun, I feel like I’m better off in the long run as I know I’ll find a better opportunity. Working at TU has been extremely tough and mentally challenging, especially after the Neustar merger.

I feel bad for those that are left that will have to pick up the pieces of this mess while still under the threat of potentially more layoffs to come.

Honestly don’t feel bad. I’m one of the ones being let go. Layoffs are just a part of life, and I genuinely feel like this is a blessing in disguise to be one of the first to disembark a sinking ship. It’s nice to show concern for others, but they’ll do just fine, and so will you.

I’ve been feeling quite miserable at TU and felt really stuck with a company with relatively decent work life balance and pay but was becoming sick of the politics and inability to get anything done.

After being paid to leave to find greener pastures, I really can’t complain much. This was the best possible outcome for me.

Of course, my heart goes out to everyone who’s in a financially tough situation, or those on H1Bs. But OP if you’re feeling guilty, just know that not all 1300 of us are devastated. Look out for yourself. You’ll likely end up crossing paths with some of us again in the future.

Total understandable, and same here. We have to ensure everything is prioritized appropriately and feel empowered to say “no” I have no capacity to take on those lower priority items.

Even before the layoffs it felt like we were understaffed and lacking resources. I highly recommend starting to look for a new job now, it’s unlikely you will be compensated for picking up the slack and there’s no guarantee they won’t let people go next year.
