Avgo shares etrade

Anyone reading this has any updates on when the avgo shares will be deposited to etrade? When I called yesterday they said potentially today and a couple of posts here said the same thing or last night, which didn’t happen, as the shares are still nowhere to be seen.

Did you call and they told you about the supplemental cost basis report? I don’t want to pay tax for 0 cost basis because it’s not correct.

I am also thinking to ditch etrade once this all settles. Embarrassing how they handle all this late and glitches

It’s not supposed to be 0.252 x vmw shares, if you chose 50/50, the number will be 0.252 x vmw shares x 0.26 for you

I am an ex-employee, left VMware in 2022, and never sold my ESPP and RSUs, I can see AVGO stocks in Etrade now,(I opted for 50% cash, 50% AVGO), however, the number of AVGO shares is way less than what is supposed to be ( Number of VMware Stocks x 0.252), anyone else facing the same issue?

I’ve been checking my etrade account almost every hour for a week and just now, I see the avgo shares! Finally! Under stock plan. Just FYI, if you folks want to check. It’s just the price has gone down about $60 since the past week, so that’s a bummer but at least now the shares are available

Exactly the same as you. I left about a year ago, haven’t had any dealings with them since, and I left all my shares in my stock plan, didn’t even know if I could move them to individual plan. I actually almost sold them when it almost hit 180 but I already made my election, and decided to wait until the merger complete. Boy, that was a wrong decision! I called etrade again today, the agent initially didn’t even verify my identity when I said vmware, he only said overnight, that was the last update they got. Like he was expecting the call would be about it. This is a really bad handling all in all, regardless who’s at fault.

It's actually Morgan Stanley, not E Trade. And MS doesn't need the bad press right now.

I left VMware almost two years ago but had a lot of RSU and ESPP stocks still in E-trade that I never sold. The stocks have been sitting in my stockplan (I didn't know that I could have moved them to my individual account, or even if I could). I was waiting a bit longer before selling them and when the merger came about, I decided to hold off selling them until then. But now I'm in the same boat as all of you. I have the cash pay out, but my AVGO stocks are still not available. I'm not a VMware employee nor have I been one since December of 2021. I'm all for a class action lawsuit. Sign me up!

I can see a lawsuit or two if people start to lose patience

Called yesterday also was told today and I’ve been checking posts here every few hours, it seems people who called also got same answers until they changed the tune today. I wish I moved my shares from the employee stock plan to the retail account. Or from Etrade altogether. It’s ridiculous. Doesn’t matter if it’s broadcom or etrade they should’ve released the shares.

I called this morning and got waved off by E*Trade passing the buck. I am reaching out to to the FTC and lodging a complaint. First steps in a class action suit. I believe they are deliberately withholding the stock release to support key stockholders release their AVGO holdings to the detriment of VMW employee shareholders.

I have been calling them every day and they keep telling “tonight”. Today they changed the tune. They are now saying it’s Broadcom who is holding the shares. The transfer agent is not submitting the shares. For Retail accounts it’s a different process so they all got it over the weekend. ETrade is now asking us to contact Broadcom.

So it’s Broadcom who is now holding it up because they don’t care about the employees or laid off people. We come last in priority. They obviously don’t want to sc--w up with retail investors. Probably they are afraid of a big sell off right before the earnings. Someone needs to sue them.

Thanks for the update. How confident they were? Because it’s basically what they’ve been saying everyday. Either today or tomorrow or tonight, but so far nothing yet. And we keep losing money all the while.

I spoke with a rep in eTrade today who expected them to be released by Monday Dec 4th.

Yeah I second that. I also wanted to sell when it hit 180 but already made the election at that point. And it was also because the initial election deadline was much earlier and then the merger got delayed multiple times so the election locked the shares way too early. What now? I guess we can only wait?

And about moved to fidelity, how would it even work? Many people don’t even know about this information, they already left vmware and left their shares in the stock plan, can’t possibly know or contacted about it.

This is completely crazy from e-trade...
We should've sold that day when VMW got to 180$, but I already elected and it was too complicated at that point to revert.
Avago is highly overevaluated now (P/E of 30 and other high indexes)

I don't think stocks will be moved to Fidelity. Why this should happens?? Without any authorization? And the people who are not employee or who got terminated?

Never. They are going into Fidelity. 2-3 weeks after close.

And of course AVGO is down again today and over 5% since the merger. Guessing MD got all his shares already.
