Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Regarding the Dec. 1st Layoffs

Has anyone heard which departments/teams are going to be affected by the second round layoffs tomorrow?

I can't imagine they would sack some of the newly created teams in the sales org, but curious to know if anyone has line of sight to this...any info?

I would doubt there will be another layoff in December - they just laid off over 500 people - they may pick at a few areas if their new strategy doesnt work - but you should be fine until their strategy sessions next year to move things around again and su-k more out of the bottom line. They aren't going to get it from top line sales, that is a given.

Dec 1st is a Friday. Layoffs are typically on Wednesdays. Were probably safe until next Wednesday

I hope this round impacts the some of the non functional useless guys in the SLT team (we do have some really useless ones on the SLT) more than the ground level employees ( Sales guys, supply chain and merchandising)...That HR head is the most undeserving of them all..
And hope Sycamore fires Lederer first, he is nothing but a a ton of negative energy. Total Mismanagement from the top guy.

I think Staples has a bit more on its plate this week than layoffs or the Global Engagement Survey.

I heard it's supposed to be a smaller amount of folks this time around, but that it will affect sales more than anything else. But I honestly don't know how much more people they can cut that they haven't already
