Those meetings don’t happen while you are in the office.
Probably they will eliminate your job then.
I will go to office, but will leave early to beat the traffic back home. Must have work/life balance else burnout will happen quick.
Considering the hours chosen for meetings so far, global employees outside of US don't seem to be considered at all.
Explain to me how normal business hours work when much of your work is working with VMware teams globally mostly in India and China and you work out of Palo Alto. Those meetings don’t happen while you are in the office.

Hock was very open to creating a shuttle bus. We'll have to see just how that goes.
BTW, Hock lives right across the street from the Palo Alto office. Maybe he can rent out a few rooms...
Didn’t Hock say leave work at office? So, open your laptop when you get to work, close it for the day when you leave. That is how you work in the model. Decline meetings outside “office” hours.
Back in the day when I still had had office job at the bank - that was exactly it. Friday 3pm everybody ended up in the pub and didn't care a bit about work until Monday 9am ...

I prefer just to leave work.

If you’re expected to go into the office you leave your work at the office, turn off the phone, turn off the laptop, and adapt to new ways to achieve a work/life balance.
