I heard separation dates are different for individuals. I wonder if this could buy us time? Can people who got their package share their separation dates?

Last working day was day of layoff, Nov 29. Separation date is early February.
My last active day is March 1st. Separation date is March 29th. I guess they want me to stay 3 months so I have time to train my offshore replacement.
Last day, next Friday. Separation date is in Jan. Severance is 12 weeks
@1kaj+1pPBjGOf I don’t think so. My last day was today and separation date of Feb 2 and I had some big projects I was leading my team on that whoever takes over my directs would probably wish I had time to give them some KT. Oh well. Not my problem.

Probably depends on your previous role and how much housekeeping and knowledge transfer they want you to do before you leave.
Separation date is the last day until when you get paid. Your last active working date is the date you won't have access to anything anymore.
For example, your last active working date can be Jan 1 and your separation date Jan 31. Which means you loose all access on Jan 1 and have to return your laptop. But, you get paid until Jan 31. Hope this helps.

I spoke to people whose last day was effective immediately, next Friday, January 2024 and March 2024. It’s all over the place.
