We weren't allowed to have a two way conversation :(
I mean yes I understand they need to cut costs and eliminate positions, but the news could've been conveyed in a kinder way.
Last day at work... I'll miss working with the awesome team I had.
Good luck to all impacted - I am not directly affected but many of the people I interact with daily are (but none on my team.) IF you didn't get the letter, please reach out to those who did, and share your contact info if you feel comfortable doing so. Also, if you had a good relationship, offer to give recommendations, either technical (if appropriate) or business focused. People are going thru a lot and probably feel adrift. They may end with a bad taste about TU, but they are still people and deserve respect and honor for contributions they made to OUR jobs/careers.
Also, if you are more the mercenary type, you never know if your head's on the block next time and THEY may be a contact for YOUR next move. Even in the age of the Intarwebs, #RolodexIsKey
They started the the call late and it took 5mins tops. Reading from a script, emotionless. Even the Hr personnel had no empathy on while reading the script. Lol audio is muted but you can see all the participants.
We’ll receive the document that we need to sign COB. We will find out when our last day is from the document.
Reading from script, we will get a packet by the end of the day with severance info.
Geetha gonna need 10 cups of coffee this AM
