Thread regarding VMware layoffs

I accepted my offer to stay on with Broadcom but wish I took the severance. Is it possible to still get the severance?

you might have a way out if you refuse to sign the arbitration agreement they are currently shoving down everyone's throats in the US.

Simply let you manager know that you are volunteering to be laid off in the next round, as any layoffs in the first year will also get severance. Not sure if it will be 2+2+1 week/yr, or just 2+1 week/yr, but will be something. Don't just quit.

Your screwed, go look for another job or stick around till march. There will be more redundancies coming. This is only round one. Hock is going to ki-l three quarters of the staff in total. He likes to destroy companies. I believe he is finished su-king Symantec and ca dry and is trying to sell. VMware I think will cease to exist in two years after being absorbed into broadcom.
