Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Hockey Stick Pricing

VMware customers beware, software licensing prices might not change right away, or may even drop a little in the short term, but the plan appears to be to jack up prices VERY significantly over the next 3 years based on what I saw today on an internal document - this is the plan.

I state this neutrally, business is business after all and raising prices for widgets is fair game for any company who has willing buyers. But I would not want to be a VMware product buyer right now, I'd be looking at alternatives at this point.

Prices are going up for everything for everybody from houses to cars to groceries to gasoline to streaming services to EVERYTHING you can imagine.

Why wouldn’t VMware prices go up too?

I say jack up VMware prices. Increase profits. Keep giving us Broadcom employees RSUs and bonuses and let’s sail our way to a $1000+ stock price.

This is the new economy. If you have a large VMware infrastructure and you want to migrate to another product go ahead and roll the dice.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

In true hock style, they will skyrocket. Call your local nutanix or Microsoft rep today to migrate away from VMware.
