Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Cork office consolidation, does it mean office is being reduced or closed down?

In Broadcom email, people have received communication that cork office is going to be consolidated but there is very little idea what that means. Anyone any idea??

Likely they will layoff most folks, not sure why would they invest in this shithole Cork/Ireland when in Sofia folks are twice cheaper and do the same work.
  • Quality
  • Customer focus
  • Higher complexity projects

But BC do not care about this.

It means there is a process of negotiation occurring where the decide who is getting canned, retained for sale and who will be kept on under broadcom. You should have an answer in February. The contracts are a continuation of existing VMware contracts under broadcom until its decided.
