For those of you going through your first corporate layoff, just be forwarned. This WILL now be a standard practice at TransUnion! You heard it here. Whenever our numbers don't BEAT (not meet, beat) market expectations you should expect these types of accounting shananigans to occur. This is the norm to ensure the stock holders get their returns.

And, if you end up actually keeping your lovely job, you will now need to navigate the emotional toll of losing so many friends and great coworkers, it's going to be painful. And while dealing with all that baggage youll now be expected to do more work and if necessary work more hours, to account for those lost jobs.

Honestly you should be hopeful to be one of the fortunate ones on the list, so long as they don't skimp on the severance packages. The fastest way to a promotion and more money is a new job!

Good luck TU

How much do they get in severance? couple of months they gave like six months of severance for some folks.

You can find details of the severance package by searching “severance” on The Hub.

All I can do now is hope that the severance is generous - there IS that possibility.
Things have been so utterly bizarre over the past few years that it's a lot harder for me to imagine staying after the (main) bloodbath's over anyway.

After that email how are we supposed to focus on work? Every email notification makes me jump and my heart is racing - anxiety is through the roof!

Did someone really come up with this communication plan and use best practices? It’s so taxing on our mental health and wellbeing.

The notice reads "Associates in the United States who are impacted will receive a calendar invite for tomorrow". Nothing about other regions.

Got the email saying tomorrow affected personnel will be notified

This is US only. Other countries have more restrictive labor laws that will not allow such a haphazard execution.

Follow the sun - the ETA just switched to MST.

Don't worry - it'll switch to PST, and then HST.

I'm confident someone will come up with a plan for after HST - but we'll have a whole hour, so FULL SPEED AHEAD for now.

You will know when it happens. All I am looking to find out is what was the layoff method and what kind of severance (in general terms).

Can you prove it in any way? We are understandably skeptical, especially since there was a post yesterday saying it would be yesterday.

@byq+1pO9BmBU I’ve been interviewing and am in the final rounds for a few roles. Of course I’m concerned. But I’m also faintly optimistic that the work my team is doing is critical enough to be spared this time. We’ll see.

Well I’m a director and I know nothing about this nor have I been asked to make any cuts so take that for what it’s worth.
