Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Integration Portal now showing (refresh)

If you are logged into login.broadcom.com refresh it and you should see the Integration Portal. Useless amount of info, links to existing VMware severance plan document.

  1. Separation date (last day): January 26, 2024
  2. No work required between now and then
  3. Not clear if severance package is in addition to Dec and Jan pay.
  4. VMware Benefits last until end of December

I want to ask... coz the FAQ is not super clear. If i submit the resignation during the notice period, do I still get the severance package? Like a early termination, i'm not super clear about it.

The “leave” or “non-working period” are independent of severance payout. You get the severance payout per the plan (two months, plus 1 week per year worked). Beginning November 27th until January 26th, or the day you start a new job (you have to put in a resignation ahead of new employment) you will paid salary

"We will get forms to sign regarding severance (not super clear on this)."

Read and understand the non-compete and non-disclosure requirements in order to qualify for severance payments. Also, return your computer as soon as asked to avoid delay in your final paycheck. All standard stuff for these type of lay-offs.

Go to Exiting Employees FAQ. It took me awhile to find the severance details, but they are in this doc. WARN period until Jan 26, then termination on that day. Severance starts that day--two months + week for every year (up to 12). We will get forms to sign regarding severance (not super clear on this).

VMW health benefits until the end of the year, then BC until termination date. BC will 'pay' 3 months of COBRA after termination + $1k for "outplacement services".

There is an additional widget that will show up in the portal that says HR. It has a ton of info on the layoff, benefits, cobra, etc. I emailed the HR alias in the letter saying I was seeing nothing, and the new app showed up.

Broadcom showing a shocking disregard for people. It is simply a link to the VMware document that we had already (for those in the US).

I would have expected details on how much will be payable, when that will be paid out, when the payout for RSUs that were granted during the summer which will auto vest etc etc. Yes, we can do the numbers ourselves, but it would take any ambiguity out of the mix.

Total joke - nothing specific to an individual's severance package - just a copy/paste dump of VMware documents. Beyond useless!
