I had like 48k in vmw stock in my etrade. I now have 21k in cash and 0 stock. I elected all my vmw shares be converted to avgo stock. Any idea why this is?
Because everyone elected to get AVGO stock except for the unelected shares that were still be traded after the election cutoff date of 10/23 which will get cash. But the acquisition agreement requires that the split be 50% cash and 50% stock. That means the split gets prorated based on the elections people made which turns out to be about 48% cash and 52% stock.

So, do I need to pay this $38 fee in my E-trade, lol… It’s so fu--ing cool that liek $300,000 of my money is just missing in action.
Called them today…. For RSUs that had vested and in ETrade account - new AVGO stocks and cash will either get deposited tonight or tomorrow night.
Unvested RSUs will move over to Fidelity and you will see AVGO converted invested RSUs in few days. Expect an email from Fidelity. Since we all have Fidelity account for 401K, we won’t have to open new account.

oct 30th and after vest date will be available in fidelity 2-3 weeks from Nov 22nd.
new RSU vests will be subject to change to BC vesting dates and will be paid into fidelity
conversion cash will be in BC payroll and stock will be in fidelity 2 days after nov 22nd.
