These brands are losing their authenticity with all the constant leadership turnover and poor executive hiring. Not sure what is happening at The North Face now, their website is all low res images on the landing page and their isn’t an athlete anywhere to be seen, just people sitting around campfires and throwing snowballs. This is The North Face not Eddie Bauer or Lands End. Not sure what the new President and CMO are doing….

Vf is a terrible company. Doesn’t invest in their own employees, doesn’t provide them with same benefits everywhere in the world and keep hiring id--ts one after another. The company is rotting from the inside.
Products are horrible, as design and also as quality. It will fall down like a card house in a short while.
The worst company to work for

This cycle will keep going for years to come at VF. Leaders are attempting to relive their glory years from elsewhere, while the consumer is saying it is 2023 and the world has changed. It is virtually impossible to do great work at these brands.

Having all the Europeans come over to run America hasn’t been working out too well, especially when they aren’t even interested in learning about the region

I agree completely with the writer who wrote about being Rendle’d. Since Rendle uprooted thousands of lives and moved the HQ to Denver, VF and its brands have been nothing but disaster. Bad acquisitions, poor product quality, broken supply chain, new Nike leaders, limited investment in brand building. Not sure they will ever recover after the Rendle era.

I am worried about the future of The North Face as they seem to be losing their performance edge and athlete focus. A ton of their brand veterans with decades of experience and who really knew the brand have all been exiting the last year for new opportunities but who were also probably frustrated with the recent direction of the brand and VFC. A lot of the new product and content is looking generic. Not sure there are a lot of people in the office that "get it" anymore and these new layoffs don't help.

Definition of ignorance is when you look in the mirror every day and you still don’t know who the person looking back really is.

Funny how they brought Trevor Edwards on the board. Did no one suss out how he left NIKE? They used to call him the Sun King w his posse of male vassals. The ex NIKE women that joined VF were clearly not consulted- lol.

I feel bad for all these people getting Rendle’d, (even as he’s long gone now). For someone who prided himself in brand and people leadership he sure didn’t know the first thing about either. It’s almost criminal the way he’s run the place into the ground. And STILL they had the gall to call it ‘retired’ instead of finally fired. Really just another testimony to corporate America where so many mediocres get away with so much for so long at the cost of so many.

Respectfully, if you don't work for VF there's no need to comment. We don't need to hear about what you think about our work right as we're being laid off. Go comment that type of cr-p elsewhere.

That's what happens when US id--ts go full blast on corporation mode inflating year end results and producing cr-p. Timberland makes terrible shoes at extra high prices, TNF is just for rich people now as prices have almost doubled and supreme is the worst brand ever taken on board… i mean, who the **** wears that junk?

Sorry for all the people loosing their jobs, maybe some higher level should be accounted responsible.

TNF Americas could do a lot better if they’d get focus back on their core competency: cold weather jackets. That’s why people come to shop at TNF! They have become the self-loathing jacket brand.

Someone needs to write a book on how wokeness and women destroyed an iconic American men’s brand formerly known as Timberland. Someone please make VF an offer to buy and save this once great company. 🥲

Tons of TNF veterans left the company over the summer voluntarily for new roles, leaving the company with a huge knowledge gap. Now they are firing people left and right. Time to replace some executives instead of the rank and file. .

VF should eliminate most of the EU leadership. That grouped f’d Timberland for good. Why would you have Italians manage a heritage US brand? Let’s go green. Let’s go urban! Wtf? At least they got rid of the NA GM and president to start but unfortunately there’s no one left with any brand knowledge because they were all let go!

The entire internal creative team aside from 4 or so got canned at Vans. Soon to be a swap meet brand with the same voice and style as Sketchers. RIP Vans. Sad day.

Layoffs happened in Europe last week and will be happening in the USA this week, probably today across all brands and VF corporate. Tough news right before the holiday.

Layoffs happening tmrw across brands. Who they should layoff is the North Face leadership. Poor hiring decisions and a bloated global/North America structure they launched over the summer which was a d-mb move given the state of VF and the general economic climate. Now the worker bees suffer….
