Looks like you can email that alias (resign@broadcom.com) as instructed, and they will adjust your termination date and pay out severance. As it reads you will forfeit the warn period pay. I would wait until 1-2 days prior to your new start date to send this email to allow BC to get that alias working.

Also remember to read the instructions on sending in your laptop and other relevant equipment.

If any others interpret this differently please comment here to help each other out. We're all trying to decipher these materials. Many people surely have new jobs lined up. Note that to qualify for severance the documents say you cannot work at another company and BC at the same time.

"the resign@Broadcom.com email alias they give in FAQ does not work"

They will fix it. Remember that AVGO only has a few people working on this transition and they're already overwhelmed. VMW is much bigger than all the other companies that they previously absorbed. Clearly, they were not fully scaled to support this acquisition.

You will ‘notice’ your ‘period’ and in the case you don’t, wear a diaper cuz you gonna ‘pay’ if you don’t

I believe you forfeit WARN Notice pay if you accept another role during that period. You are technically still an employee, just not in practice during this period.

There was a sentence in one of the FAQ docs that you will need to notify a email alias of your final days and submit your resignation, which will discontinue the notice period pay (how they can really verify this if you 'forget' i don't know). You will be eligible for Severance Pay once we get closer to official termination date.

There is so many things wrong with that statement I don't even know where to begin.
