Thread regarding VMware layoffs

WTF is going on with EUC?

Layoffs that were not really expected and not a single word from any of our management. There are people on my team directly affected and nothing from management. At this point, we don't even know what our management structure looks like... It's like BC wants to be as disruptive as possible....

It has been made clear all the way through Managers are not involved in this process at all, we know as little as you

My previous role was sales and the new role in EUC is sales as well. Also, I’m remote in the US and the role I was offered is also stated as remote in the offer letter.

I guess congratulations are in order, if keeping a job is your preference, but if you were expecting to be given a choice, now that's taken away from you. Sorry you missed your opportunity to reject the offer.

But correct me, If I am wrong, earlier, you may be working on SEBU products, but never reporting in to SEBU leadership, but to some sales leadership right?

if so, somebody in your management structure moved over to the newly forming EUC sales and liked you to come with them in to EUC sales. that's where your name would have been suggested for a EUC sales position now. Check and see if your structure above in few days, to see who moved to EUC sales from your current structure.

Sounds like you have a terrible manger.

The situation is actually very simple.

There were no mass layoffs in EUC. Any layoffs that happened were performance based and was an opportunity to get rid of people without going through the usual HR song and dance.

They want to sell EUC and either don’t have a buyer or haven’t received an offer that was high enough. Subsequently EUC will operate as a separate entity within Broadcom with the intent of consolidating as a separate company and maximizing its market potential. Once they get a buyer or an offer they like EUC will be sold. Any other questions?

“There are people on my team directly affected”

Which team is this, as looks like most EUC have not been impacted?

Yah the managers are all garbage in VMware out for themselves. We know and they won't say anything because they are all co-k goblets.

“I received an offer to join EUC today. My role as of last week was SEBU”

This suggests that your role in SEBU was being eliminated and that EUC recognised your abilities and wanted to have you in their organisation

I received an offer to join EUC today. My role as of last week was SEBU. Pretty unexpected and still not sure what comes next. No word on who I will be reporting to or what this new role will even look like. What a mess
