Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

1400 Locomotives to be stored LONG TERM

Just got forwarded the email from a colleague of mine at HQ. December 5th Vena is storing 1400 locomotives for LONG TERM. I don’t know which locations will be shutdown and how many jobs will be gone but with that amount of stored locomotives we could possibly see the biggest layoffs EVER in railroad history. Fire up the dozers Vena!!

They are putting 1400 in storage. He’s telling the truth on that. Who knows how many cars there going to store. There is life outside this company. Quit while you can you will be glad you did in the long run.

Speaking of loco shenanigans...

Can someone honestly explain how an air blower AKA"rail cleaner" converts a 12.1 EPA unit into a 14.4 EPA unit? because they sure don't seem to pull any harder...

And I notice they don't consider these magical units as 14.4 EPA IF they're pulling a UPS train...

Just more lies to make a train appear to be sufficiently powered on paper yet underpowered in reality?

They sent a faxed plan for the building of the Polar Express. Gonna extend Up to CN up the coast of Alaska, connect to the Alaska rr and go North to Point Barrow, then to the North Pole.

I gotta say this! The HQ guy always has something new to post. He/she said Vena was shutting down and selling off the PNW. Then it was every location except 3 or 4 of them. Then it was the bulldozers tearing up locations. Then it was Vena or Givens getting rid of an entire department. Then it was the massive recession coming for anyone not strong enough in the rail industry. Now it's the mass storage of locomotives. I can't wait to see what he/she comes up with next! Tell your "colleague" at HQ to keep it coming! The insanity of these posts are getting comical.

Long term store 29% of the active fleet during the middle of peak season and it can somehow magically happen in one day? C'mon bulldozer guy, at least try to make your trolling believable. You're better than that.

As long as they keep the Big Boy rolling, that's all that matters. Funny how they keep that money pit rolling but will furlough workers lol sad.
