Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Thankful for exposing the realities and the egotistic management in the downward spiral

Many foresaw the charade that the current management is putting on. They predicted the demise of this place, no strategy or product, no new customers or growth in revenue, and continuous layoffs. All reality.

The real blessing is exposing the self serving management that has destroyed the culture of the company for their own gain. They showed their true colors and character when they got rid of RG, merged his team under their crony SVP to prop him up, and eventually many talented people left or laid off. Check out how many of RG's team got the heck out from under DS and TimberMan or worse, how many left the TimberMan earlier to work with RG are now laid off after the consolidation of the engineering teams.

Many of us know what happened and how vindictive HA, DS, and the TimberMan are. No one in engineering respect or trust them. We will go along with whatever they say to stroke their egos while we plan our exit. They must be proud of themselves, laying off people quarter after quarter and lying all along.

A lot of dead wood in the management layers who are simply in over their head.

Disregarding the ELT for a moment (because we all know they are hopeless.)

It's almost comical how they are getting rid of their top talent inch by inch and keeping the dead wood in director/VP levels.

Soon they'll run out of headcount to layoff or outsource.

Once this happens they won't be able to show numbers without sales. (Which aren't happening)

6 months from now and the AI market leaders will be solidified + Teradata won't be one of them.

Many of the current ELT simply don't have the experience nor the knowledge of the industry to be able to turn this company around. We're being led by people who wouldn't get a role in a similar company so they find themselves ending up here reinforcing how terrible they are and those who suffer the most are the rank and file employees

"confront" and "call them out"? what are you smoking? Let's play along here :-)

Once again naivety talking or NC/HR/ELT supporter trying to chase away people so they don't look bad laying them off.

What else to tell them that haven't been said. The do not listen. Even when they agree that you are right, they will adopt idea as their own and lay you off because they feel threaten. They are rotten to the core and cannot and don't want to be helped.

No need to spend another second with this bunch of losers. Do your job as a professional with least time and effort and then spend the rest of their time and resources to prepare, train, and plan to exit on your time when you are good and ready, financially, technically, and mentally.

Don't give them cause and do their job to fire you. No package and no unemployment when fired. Layoffs gives you something and if on your terms, even better. They will string you along and get rid of you in a second. So you too can leave when you want, now that you know you don't want to be here or be like any of these bozos.

Instead of "going along" why not confront the ego-bullies and call them out for their complete lack of technical knowledge, product awareness, industry awareness, and understanding of customer needs.

What's the worst that can happen? They fire you before you get laid off.
