Macy’s workers are planning to strike on Black Friday, alleging unfair labor practices and the retailer’s failure to reach a new union contract deal.
Four hundred workers at Macy’s locations in Washington state are planning action after 96% of workers voted in favor of authorizing the strike in October.

I didn't see any strike. All I saw were shoppers.
so how did the strike work out for Macys? from what I saw on the news it didnt stop people from shopping there.
You are striking for a safer work environment? Truth of the matter, you are safer than most. What about TSA agents ? They make minimum wage! What about the guy checking out people in the grocery store? I could go on and on. Look, g-ns and shoplifters are EVERYWHERE! A sad fact. You can not over ride State laws. No union can. A company does not want every employee calling 911 for reasons that do not warrant an emergency. In Washington law enforcement does not consider shoplifters an emergency. Every store has procedures to follow on who to inform in your store of a situation with a shoplifter. Most, let them go for everyone's safety. I do not support the strike going on. You all are paid a wage that supports your skill level and work abilities. As far as inflationary pay, we all are struggling. Quite possibly you may have to consider going to school and training for another profession.

What is so ironic....... Macy's laid off the entire IT department because they made too much money! That was 4 years ago. Look at the payroll you are paying out now for unskilled labor! Not to mention the unskilled NCR people servicing the stores. Granted NCR pays them, but you pay the contract. Unskilled workers need to realize at some point that you will never have a living wage in retail. Never have and never will.
