This is by far the worst working experience of my life. This place holds a level of contempt for its employees I didn't even think possible. I thought I was making a good career move when I decided to leave my other job and transfer here, but it turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life.

Gave Optum my all and at the end of the day they had people over seas watching my work and I was replaced for someone else and cheaper pay. I slowly watched people take all my hard work and use it as their own. Then i was laid off. Thanks Optum! Good luck! Every bad person gets what they deserve! Your day will come
I didn't choose optum. They bought us out. 9 month hiring freeze. Over worked and no end in sight. Buh bye
If only there was some way to save the victim in this story... are we in some fantasy novel? I don't know, get a new job for more pay somewhere else? Why do people come on here, a layoff site, to complain about the job they have? You still have a job, get a different one that pays more somewhere else while you still can choose. Then quit, move on, don't come back. It's really such a simple solution yet based on the many comments, seems such a huge last resort. It should be the solution you are actively working on. Here is reality, Optum will not change, Optum isn't going to couples counseling and coming out a changed person. It is a corporation . That is it. The people who make the decisions do not care about the people who work for the corporation. They care about the money they get from the positions they have. They live in a different economic reality that allows them to justify their decisions by dehumanizing them and then saying things like, its just business. If they didn't, they would be too tired from not being able to sleep to enjoy spending all that money!!! The more the stock is worth, the more they make. This isn't a charity run by people who genuinely care about Healthcare, patients, clients, companies they purchase, anything to do with America or its people. That is fantasy, the same one you live in where you are held prisoner by the evil king Of healthcare.
I agree. Worst place I've ever worked in my 35 year career. I've been with Optum for 7 years and I'm worse off now than when i started- financially, emotionally, experience, learning, growth ..
Optum is the most corrupt and unethical organization I’ve ever encountered. OIG needs to shut them down. I’ve worked for some shady high profile employers on the West Coast but Optum takes the cake. The Mid Cycle hierarchy is a bunch of lying, cheating, stealing, crooked alcoholics that use company dollars to fund their lifestyle. These so called leaders don’t even have a college education
Optum was run by you UHG CEO Andrew Witty.
They do not respect or hire qualified candidates
My former manager who is a lifer said, “ this is the way it is” instead of being a part of the solution.
This defeatist attitude and lack of responsibility is root cause.
You can stay under the radar, look for a better job soon! It doesn’t get any better sadly.
Sounds like someone had a nightmare. When they woke up, they realized the nightmare was actually real life.
They know English far too well to be Indian. You should have done the needful.
I guess American, turkey into oven time?
or American, cortisol hormone waking them up and they perform emotional sorting upon waking and their job and the idea of being laid off drives them to this site to vent or check for layoff news?
I am willing to bet you do not even work there. It's an overseas post at 4 AM CST (or 4PM India time) on the biggest holiday in USA. And if getting a job is your biggest mistake in your life, you need to take more risks
