How do RSU's typically get awarded after your initial welcome RSU's? I understand that you might get 4 years worth of RSU's when you're hired, but then do they wait until after 4 years to grant you new ones? Or do they grant you more every year?

Usually all BC employees get additional RSUs (usually half of the new hire package) every year in March. Amount based on role. Depending on your location and tax rate your annual net worth of RSU vesting can easily reach 40 or 50k USD with current share price level. This way you get a considerable amount over the years incremental to base salary and bonuses.
The person above is spot on so no need to say this once more -quarterly vesting and additional stock in March if you are a good performer.
Generally you will get RSUs allocated after 6 months service. If you get a 4 year allocation it will be split into 16 quarterly vesting quantities (not necessarily equal) - you can start selling immediately after your allocation for that quarter is available - or you can accumulate.
If you are a good performer it is likely you will get another allocation after a year, keep performing and you likely will get another and so on...
