Just curious, what data backs up this claim I see in like every 3rd thread “ EUC is one of the most profitable BUs”

Genuinely curious. Not trolling. I just would think if that were true BC would want to keep. Would also think it would be highlighted more in all hands

We are all temporarily part of Broadcom as of now?

"Really hoping that they already have a buyer for us already. Seems any other company would be better than Broadcom and finally being able to get away MD would be an added bonus."

I dunno man. You may get your wish and end up regretting it. It depends on who that buyer is. Amazon, for instance, would seem like a decent fit but they also treat their employees like cr-p. Google would be a pretty good fit. The challenge there is that the VDI cloud platform runs on Azure and MS licensing makes other cloud platforms more expensive. Microsoft would buy EUC just to shutdown or wrap Workspace One into InTune. Horizon's tech would certainly help AVD but I bet they would also get an anti-trust challenge from Citrix. Also, to be honest, MS doesn't need to buy EUC. Their partnerships are very profitable for them.

My bet is EUC gets sold to a private equity group. How well that turns out depends on which PE group.

"if you don’t believe in it, why have you stuck around? EUC is one of the most profitable BUs and has probably the highest percentage of purchased licenses actually being consumed by customers vs the other BUs. "

^^THIS^^
Core has been su-kin' off EUC's teet for years. The amount of money siphoned from EUC is absolutely crazy. That ends tomorrow.

There's a reason EUC is hiring and no one else is.

I find the EUC haters so funny to listen to. They all sound butt-hurt that a profitable business isn't using the latest trendy software and architecture, but the products that are can barely earn a dime. There's some incredible spite and vitriol oozing out of them -- you have to wonder where it comes from.

must be from frustration, not knowing how to make $h1t that makes profit.

What were the original plans? Everything I heard through official channels was that it was unknown. Where did you get Mar - May from?

Unknown, yes, because it was dependent on Broadcom's closure of VMware deal, But there are plans being made to sever infrastructure, dependent components and all, Most of them were targeted to be completed by Mar-May, Also, I stated that is my guess based on what I know.

EUC will be sold off to Citrix

And why do you think that is? how is that making business sense for Citrix too, to buy the same business they have? and how do you think FTC would approve it? It's not going to be a small deal that won't require approval.

I wish people uses brain, sometimes at least.

One thing is sure it will be divested. People have been actively planning the separation for months. I know several people who are working on it. Also lot of politics being played about who will go with EUC (other roles apart from core product engineering). Timing unknown.

I guess the spin-off between Mar - May, more or less inline with original plans

“I've only worked in the EUC BU for two years, but everyone I meet at VMW tells me it's the weakest link in the chain of forward-looking value.”

If you don’t believe in it, why have you stuck around? EUC is one of the most profitable BUs and has probably the highest percentage of purchased licenses actually being consumed by customers vs the other BUs.
But if you don’t want to carry on in that BU, I’m sure they’ll accept your resignation and replace you accordingly

I've only worked in the EUC BU for two years, but everyone I meet at VMW tells me it's the weakest link in the chain of forward-looking value. While Shankar Iyer and his leadership team seem like nice friendly people, I have to question their market awareness.

They exist in this alternative and isolated universe where people still believe that Workspace ONE and Horizon will not be abandoned by our informed customers.

It's a little scary to think that they're responsible for our BU future. Shankar came from Citrix Systems, and so I'm concerned that he and his direct reports are unprepared.

If, I were to guess I think they will probably target 30th or Straight forward Dec 4th as a Day-1, that should give them enough time for sending out letters across the globe.

As for EUC, I guess the spin-off between Mar - May, more or less inline with original plans when they were looking to close on Oct 30th.
