This will be a long day. Then we'll have to go through the same thing tomorrow and the day after. Can somebody please tell me when did it become acceptable to treat your employees in such an inhumane way?

You need a reality check! Restructuring like this happens all the time in large companies. No point worrying until you know for sure, and then you will always have options
you should just have chainsaw charlie and all his hoodlums and cronies. it would be even worse with them added to the situation
