"Giving staff the sack is expensive...This is where “quiet cutting” comes in. This unofficial process is for companies to get workers out without firing them. Workers are intentionally made to feel uncomfortable and guided towards the door without being explicitly told to leave." - Forbes
Walgreens executives are clearly taking a two-pronged approach to reducing headcount at corporate. HR and top-level management are strong handing layoff decisions and department reorgs. This isn't good for anybody. Top talent is tossed or walks out themselves. Getting right sided is necessary but it shouldn't be at the sense of logic, effectively supporting the business, and retaining loyal and talented employees.
I wish Walgreens executives the future they deserve.
