According to a very well-known expert and spokesman in geopolitical circles, President XI has "shot the messenger" so many times that he has effectively isolated himself into a vacuum of information since his underlings are so afraid to bring him any news. Case in point, he didn't even know about the spy balloon until after the US knocked it down. His awareness of pandas and corporate acquisitions is probably minimal at best.
