Most companies are laying low during this time due to holiday seasons, so if you see a position, this is the time to capitalize on the actual realistic need of that posting. If your telecommuter, this is likely the time you could pull of that introduction period of training and meetings because most teams do not do much productivity during this time so a slow down isn't something that sticks out. It's a perfect time...or just stay and find a way to make it work.
