As a former employee, the downfall of AAP is no surprise. Tom Grecko and the Pepsi team ran the company into the ground by focusing on woke initiatives instead of selling parts. His insistence on rebuilding in Raleigh based on the CQ team was the initial mistake displacing strong team members with a good history of the company. Signing a very expensive headquarters in a new tower increased expenses at well over 10 times the former location in Roanoke. Moving accounting and IT to India was the nail in the coffin. All of these changes have created a point of no return IMO. Selling of WP and CQ Canada is an attempt to generate cash flow to save the company. We'll see but it's not looking good.
Honest question, at this point what was gained from the CQ acquisition and gutting the Roanoke HQ to move to Raleigh? It’s like AAP is back where they started 10 years ago.

5 years of service and a big FU. Guess my manager got her wish and eliminated her biggest threat. Well played but will see you in the market place soon as you are incompetent to do anything. I feel bad for my team left behind. They will be overwhelmed with no protection and soon be leaving on their own.
Too much waste for positions that weren't necessary, hope he can do some more cleaning up.

A lot of leaders are getting cut. Jason McDonnell (EVP) and it looks like VPs, Directors, and Senior Directors across marketing are also in the line of fire. Entire teams are getting liquidated... I don't know how AAP is going to come back from this.
What department and role? How long were you at AAP and did that have anything to do with the 8 weeks of pay?
