Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Legal advice ?

Shouldn’t this be class action lawsuit at this point ? Has anyone consulted with lawyer on what can be used to build a case and pursue action? I literally think the way all this went down, this should be case study in business on what no to do. Would be nice to also show people there are some serious repercussions to jerking employees around

I am shocked and amazed that so many people commenting think if the deal falls through the employees win. VMware is no longer and will never again be VMware. If not Broadcom it will be someone else. Sad to say but VMware did this to itself. I blame the peanut m&ms.

"For any kind of legal pursuit the first requirement is demonstrating financial damage. So far there has been none."

Wait a week or so and check the VMW stock price. You'll see plenty of damage

Shareholding is concentrated and mostly done through proxy by the big fund houses. 50% by MD. Then Silverlake and vanguard Blackstone which is Chinese money through safe haven like Singapore and Cayman Islands. So it's all decided by them. Take your crumbs and be happy. Unless they fight amongst themselves, nothing will come out in the open. Gensler at the sec is just clown owned by this circus of barons.

The couple that I have talked with do not want to do contingent fee basis (only pay if you win). We'll have to pay expensive legal fees to pursue it first (going farther into the hole) for potentially a little benefit.

I only talked with a couple of smaller firms, so larger firms may be willing to do this contingency based, or you could see large shareholders use up their own lawyers.

This is going to be even more of a nightmare if this thing does not close, in my opinion.

I consulted a lawyer but it was a divorce lawyer...this stress has put my relationship right into the trash. Thanks Hock!

For any kind of legal pursuit the first requirement is demonstrating financial damage. So far there has been none. If the deal actually gets cancelled there will be many class action lawsuits.

I am by no means a genius or even what I would consider smart. But whoever made the decision to go ahead and send out offers or not send out offers before the deal was completed was a complete and total Mo--n. They did not think that through. And as a result the entire company is 100% pi---d off and angry, knowing that either the offers were a lie or that they are seen as disposable. A company is only a good company if the employees who do the work want to do so because they respect the company. All of that has vanished. The damage is now done. All of the execs are going to have a hard time looking anyone in the eye with everyone knowing they went along with all of it and were all going to get golden parachutes too.

It’s not just about the emotional and financial damage they caused to us but at this point I want the leadership to be sacrificed and purged like they tried to purge us. This bi--h turned to hunger games. I really think we need to strike and not work until real change is made. What are they going to do fire all of us? They can’t. Plus sadly there will always be the kiss as--s thinking they can get promotion during this time versus standing with the people. I feel sad for them because they want those inflated monopoly RSUs so bad because probably they can’t make it outside VMware and make that kind of money

If the deal fails to close (as Wall Street analysts anticipate) there will most likely be a series of Shareholder class action claims. Be on the lookout, at the end of this month.

Consider joining a class action as you see fit. Note, that the individual financial benefit will be small, which is common with large Shareholder group claims.

Big boys at work here, try and stop them.

Pray they don’t alter the terms of the deal again.
