Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Union

I'm a current employee. I've watched 100s of great employees given their walking papers. The company has not listened to the front line since SP took over. They are charging more than other companies making huge profits and sending some of the very best talent out the door. When will we all wake up and form a union? Customers are catching on to price hikes and Staples is alienating Customers for sales. What happend to customer first? They layoff masses only to down grade the role and then pay less and report. Let the union fight for us? Everything they say is a lie, YOU ALL WERE CHOSEN? No sir we weren't. Listen to your front line, out the customer first and you can gain the buying your looking for. Sales rooms, website redesign all the human we could possibly need. Maintain the large accojt s and let the breadcrumbs feed WB Mason and Office Depot/Max. They are taking market share just as fast. Union reps cost but better than your job as WE ARE ALL JUST A NUMBER. Even MP, JD, and the JH. YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

“Junp right in” you mean after asking permission and how to do it?

Hope the VP likes to handhold. Lacks the ability to make key decisions. Kpi focused. No strategy to lead leaders. Nice but ineffective Worked with her for many years glad she is leaving our country. Good luck Maitland.

How many do we need to do a union?

You are so right. She knew what was happening in Canada and saved herself. 99 percent of the employees that she worked with that lost their jobs have not heard a peep of compassion from her. Onward and downward. Enjoy the ride.

Looks like a post from AL. I worked with her in Canada and if you are looking for someone who is concerned about herself you will get what you pay for. Lack of experience or leadership qualities that I have seen. Can’t wait to watch the train wreck live. Will be in for a very rude awakening. Fla is not Canada.

Careful what u wish for. Had a union come in at my last company and they couldn't get us half of what they said. They are sales people and can only negotiate. You are lucky to have AL coming to your site. She is one of the best managers I had. She is compassionate, smart, and not afraid to jump in. Give her a chance!

What are next steps to unionize?

Staples Supply Chain has been long overdue for employee union representation, particularly in their delivery SDOs and hourly FC staffs. The most unsafe, underpaid, underappreciated, and overworked workforce in the industry.

Fu-k yes. Seeing other unions around the country be successful is inspirational. I have felt the same way. We shouldn’t live/work looking over our shoulder anymore
