Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

New Incentive- Work Overtime and Receive Living Proof

Are these people serious? We don't want Living Proof points that are taxed as income.

How about allowing us to do our jobs without uprooting our family and/or outsourcing our jobs to contractors. Stop laying off our peers so there isn't this backlog that you are now asking us to fix for "points".

This is a slap in the face.

I 100% agree, I even tried starting the process, but it seems the c-suite has terrified everyone too much to actually put a list of backers together to get the process officially started, including getting the backing of the union's legal team :'(

Employees need to unionize.

They are not firing you, they are grinding you down. These are under minimum wage level compensations for your professional work at inconvenient hours that were paid well above regular rates in the past. Shame on you for participating in such a "deal". It's slavery in disguise.

Here's a better option. Work four hours a day, and tell the c-suite mental m!diets to kiss your a$$ if they want you to do more. Keep your living proof.

Nice scam set up by FB and making his son-in-law and COO the scapegoats

Your first mistake was taking part in one of their “deals”. We shouldn’t have to make special deals to get appreciation and compensation for our work.

Those ones held up by the COO have ver very little chance of coming to fruition. Standard Frank playbook on that one.

The deal in our group was work a 4 hour weekend shift, get 2500 Living Proof points. = $250 in gift cards. We could sign up for up to four shifts.

Funny part is, the points “haven’t been approved by the COO yet.” We keep getting updates that they’re sorry it’s taking longer than normal… I could see these not being approved. Apparently the most points they’ve given away for this so called “incentive”

I've been using the Amazon gift card to calculate if this would even be worth it since it's the only thing I redeem points for. A $100 Amazon gift card is 1000pts. $0.10 a point. Unless I get a miracle project that qualifies and only takes a few hours (less than 5) or I just stop valuing my free time, I don't see how participating in this could be worth it. Especially for a currency that can't be used to pay bills.

One lousy OFS manager actually told a top performer: "I can't approve any more Living Proof awards for you...it's affecting the morale of the other team members who never get nominated."

Was I ever surprised to learn that the Medicare benefits I am receiving now are much more cost-effective that Fiserv's "subsidized" HDHP plan with United Health Care, even when factoring in the HSA contribution. Great employee benefit!

@irg+1p9Ng43K - All the "company perks" you mention are standard benefits at any regular company. The only thing approaching a "perk" was WFH (I would argue it's not a perk, as it costs the company nothing) and now that's gone.

Also, the amount of hours people work it isn't a "little thing". Many work 50-55 hours/week on average over the course of a year. Let's take the middle and say 52.5 hours/week average. That's 31% extra hours. Normal. Expected. Demanded. Required.

A friend of mine works for a large telecom firm and he is strongly encouraged to take comp time. The company is staffed in such a way that allows employees to do so.

I can't tell you how many times I tried to give out well deserved LP awards only to be told "the budget for LP is used up" or that's too much, try a lower level/smaller amount". Are we to believe they are expanding the LP budget and loosening the purse strings on it? My feet are getting really cold if that's the case, because he!! must be freezing over.

They require tens of hours to get X amount of points and doing napkin math it's about 3-5 bucks and hour. I'd rather do something else with my time. Maybe if they didn't slash the workforce they wouldn't have to entice us with these peanuts to get extra work done.

You are missing the point. Do you know who oversees the living proof pgm? Frank’s son in-law , VP Sam Lituchy with a $180k salary. I am not making this up, check it out. He needs to keep his job

My team barely gets living proofs and if anyone does or gives one to someone, it gets questioned into “why this level” or “what’s the justification, isn’t he/she doing their job”

Lmao

When you realize what many other companies offer for benefits at a much more generous rate for less cost to the employee you will see these are not all that great benefits and yo call them perks is crazy!

Apples and oranges...

First off, "volunteery" with heavy undertones of "or else" doesn't really jive. Additionally, those living proof points, besides being far less valuable than the money in your salary, is also effectively company scrip. If it were just a bonus for exceptional work, instead of a replacement for overtime wages (due to being salaried, which ironicly doesn't forbid the company from paying overtime, it just protects them from not having to) then you'd have a valid point.

As for the second half of your message... it's almost like people have learned that many of those "benefits" are called human rights in other countries (including many that our colleagues work) They don't have to be grateful for the "benefit" of Healthcare since the company and they already pay for it in far less taxes than we pay in the states (because yes, insurance premiums are effectively a tax). Likewise those other coworkers have better PTO and holidays that are enforced by law, better social safety nets for retirement than gambling on the stockbroker at your own risk, etc.

It's all lipstick on a pig.

Everything in context - Living Proof points™ is the company's way of saying "Thank You" for your hard work. Anytime I've ever seen this offered is on a voluntary basis. Yes, technically it might be construed as "overtime" because you're working on a weekend, but you're being compensated for your time.

Funny how people complain about the little things and forget to mention the company perks - Insurance, PTO, Paid holidays, 401k matching, etc. Like everything in life, 'it is what it is" and you got to roll with the punches.
