Now what? Business back to normal? I’m thinking there would still be layoffs but a lot less so…

Vmware stock is tanking. China blocked the deal. Its over.
VMW was over when it was announced. Everyone knew from Day 1 what Broadcom does. If this fell through at the last minute, we will already see major cuts. People thinking the gravy train will continue and no layoffs are kidding themselves.
What are we focusing on??!
NYSE is de-listing VMW.

I don’t know but I focus on it.

what is main thing now?
You’re all acting like you know China well. They can be quite retaliatory especially if it means saving face.
Wishful thinking is quite a dr-g isn’t it?
China needs to be handled separately as the corporate tools used at Broadcom aren't even supported for use in China, so regardless that's not a blocker.
Government regulatory agencies seek concessions for Broadcom, rarely a block.
The big question now is when and how Hock will agree, and the implications to the remaining employees at VMware. All these concessions have a cost associated that may increase the requirement for more headcount reduction to pay for those acquisition costs.
*not a merger
Dont kid yourself, the merger will still happen.
