Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

What value did DVC VP presented to keep himself at Q ?

I'm well paid and happy working at DVC, but I don't see the value in having both horizontal and vertical team structures. It's not productive.

I'm surprised to see young and talented tech workers getting laid off, while managers who are just tracking tasks and not helping their teams grow are still around. How is this company supposed to change? I completely missed the mark in guessing who would be laid off this time.

I hope managers in DVC are measuring themselves up and adding more heads soon at all levels to showcase their talents and strengths.

Yeah agree..., the VP destroyed the well functioning team ...there are many key resource departures due to his leadership and wastage of Q's time and money.

  • morally he should take responsibility and resign from Q.

Sadly, it has always been like this, countless dir/Sr dir/vp, no one knows what they truly contribute, when layoffs, they protect themselves and let go of the engineers.
Look at QCA, just check the number if principal/dir/Sr dir/vp, and the total number of employees.
