Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

I don't see the point of layoffs

We have enough people leaving on their own. These are some of the best people, those who are paid more, so it's not as if they need to pay them to leave. Are you telling me that even with that it's not enough? Not only does Citi not care about the brain drain but they're happy to help it along?

OP, I don't see that. Yes, some are leaving, and some are staying. Many are staying.
I had a feeling this was coming. When I first joined, I looked around and thought there sure are a lot of people here, and that can't be good.

The first ones out the door are your best employees. It is very irresponsible for a CEO to announce layoffs without a plan.

Hopefully they will get rid of the slackers. I have one on my team that is such a tool. Makes alot of noise and begs for attention, but doesn't do any actual work and everyone knows it

C’mon. The strategy is to remove layers and consolidate groups etc. If people leave but not from the roles they need to eliminate, wouldn’t help the plan.

They are laying off the dummies that don't pull their own weight. If you don't get it then.....
