Stop acting like a kid Did you even listen? They said it will happen from mid October ( FROM) and in some countries you will see it 1st of November due to legal reasons. Stop the frustration. They SAID IT, didn't you listen? Have you ever read about acquisitions? they can't announce it with too much time due to legal reasons. You will have to wait which is completely normal, and if you are fired you might not receive anything as MENTIONED. The directors already will start knowing so you will know in the next weeks, VMWare has 38 K workers. It is normalthat it takes time.... did you ever face a problem in your life? in life, you will have to wait for transitions and life will always be like this. We are talking about a change of 38 thousand people, it can't be done fast. Stop getting stressed about something that you can't control. Acquisitions, firing, and changes will always happened and this is part of life. The world keeps changing and things keep changing. Our job today is not the same as our job 100 years ago. You will not die from this.... so stop THE DRAMA!
UK here, I would be very surprised if anything happens before the acquisition seeing as no notice of any redundancies has come out. At previous companies I have seen 3 months with plenty of transparent consultation. Not expecting anything until November.
No severance letters will go out until after the acquisition. Most offer letters will also happen after the acquisition. It hasn’t happened yet, so hold your horses. It’s currently the people and offer planning time, due to run into November. Most people won’t know anything until post close, so don’t be expecting a letter to arrive in the next couple of weeks
