Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Predictions

On the DL he worked out a deal with BR which owns UP. Shareholders want their money and they want it now. This is going to be the biggest downsize in UP history. This is going to hit the 5pm news. The unions are going to plea to Biden for help and there is nothing he can do.

And a shareholder can’t force a President/CEO/Chairman of the Board out either right? Look up the presentation from the shareholder group that wanted Fritz out and Vena in. The board noticed something strange so they split the job in three… Tell me they don’t have influence…

Who said anything about shareholder influence? The fact that shareholders have such an influence is exactly why the UP is in such terrible shape. The UP is a publicly traded company and has been for quite some time. If you own even one share of UP stock, then you're considered a part owner. Is that influence a reflection of the single share owners too, or just the majorities? To say the influence is what drives the company today is a no brainer. The UP needs to focus on serving the customers, not the shareholders. Calling someone naive over a shareholder influence argument is pointless and ignorant. Shareholders are the ones causing the problems. REMEMBER THAT!

An article to describe how the UP is owned. YES, BR and Vanguard do have a major influence on company decisions. Also, as an executive or someone on the board of directors, you would not want BR or Vanguard to reduce their position because it would impact your own wealth. They are all in bed with each other. To pretend UP isn't influenced by all of this is naive.

BR and Vanguard do not own every class 1 RR. They may own shares, but they're not considered majority owners. There is a difference between majority shareholder and majority owner. You can actually see how many shares each investor owns in a particular company. You might be surprised to know how little shares they do own of the UP.

Still nothing on WARN, at least for Omaha. So still have 60 days minimum before anything major could happen.

Buckle up boys , it's gonna be some rough roads ahead. Some may leave the railroad for good , some may come back. But either way , may the force be with you. Put on them man pants and tie them boot laces tight . We heard rumors here and there. Now its here.

I hate to tell you this, but your full of sh1t. The investors DO NOT have operational control of the company, just because they want their money. You better look up how corporations and the B.O.D. work. The biggest downsize in UP history is in your head.

Cute story, but Vanguard has about 14 million more shares than BlackRock.
