What do you think?

You know, the people who lied about VMware multicloud for the past two years.
What part of it was a lie? As far as I know VMware has compatibility with the major cloud providers.
What Broadcom already has (DEI, Legal, HR, deal desk, sales ops, etc)....they don't need to bring redundant staff from VMware to perform.
That's not how M&As work. Ops work at scale to the org. They are bringing in a BU that is twice the size of their existing business. They don't fire them all and put 200% the amount of work on existing staff. They'll do just as they're doing now for everyone else: weeding out the best.
HR, Legal, DEI, Ops, etc, will have roles in the new org. Just not as many.
You guys are taking DEI too seirously, be neutral about it. DEI is in affluent companies not because it's a requirement, but affluent companies, AFTER they have become succesful create the DEI department.
Broadcom merely follows the trend. They don't care about anything other than increasing returns for their shareholders stock portfolio.
SEIS and other marketing scam groups will be gone. You know, the people who lied about VMware multicloud for the past two years.
What about Core Sales?
What about Carbon Black?
Spin-off is what I hear.
What about CloudHealth?
What about Carbon Black?
all BUs min 20% will impact and Ops - 80%
You answered your own question:
"Broadcom has a DEI team, and individual BUs within Broadcom had DEI. How do you see it magically going away?"

And how do you see that playing out in your mind? DEI is not going away, no matter how much it triggers you. Broadcom has a DEI team, and individual BUs within Broadcom had DEI. How do you see it magically going away?
It would take a strong leader to stand up and require employees succeed or fail on the merits of their results instead of the color of their skin... Hock Tan isn't exactly a white male, but he is sure successful and can apparently drive results. I'd like to believe everyone at VMware is successful based on their merits, but that would mean DEI is just a gimmick made to restrict lending based on political alignment and nothing more.
Did you think you got the job because of your race? Noooooooo.... it was because you deserved it pal/gal. Wouldn't that be a welcoming concept?
