Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Contactors

Myself and 2 other colleagues recently joined in the past 2/3 months as contractors. We'll definitely be first on the chopping block, right?

Come on if you’re a contractor, you should know the gig. Your contract doesn’t get renewed, as simple as that, or maybe even your contract gets paid off and you don’t have to work it, depending on your contract t&cs, but don’t pretend you’re on a ‘chopping block’ that’s one of the risk v reward considerations you made when not being a full time employee.

If you’re lucky and what you’re doing is considered essential then you may get an extension to your contract.
