How transparent will teams will be once offers start?
Wonder have offers already been received from D-level down? Especially US?
VMware Tiger teams have already been formed, is this a sign of those that are guaranteed offers?

I've decided to look at it from this perspective: The longer I go without a layoff letter, the longer I stay on payroll. I know that's a simplistic way to view this transaction, but for now, and for me, that's the best I can do.
They said it will come from mid october... Be patient, they can't announce 38 k people all on the 16th, it depends on legal terms, country, and department, it is totally normal you haven't received anything. They mentioned it will be FROM mid - October till beginning of Nov and if you are fired you might not receive anything, but stop stressing. It is not the end of the world , you will not die. Acquisitions, changes will alwaaaaaaaays happened and continue to happen. Our jobs today are not the same than 50 years ago, companies are also not the same. It is part of life. And with all options you will be fine. 1: If you get an offer that you like it will be good. 2. if you get an offer you do not like, you accept it while you look for something else 3 if you get fired, I believe you have a good CV to find another job and while you find another job you can: rest a little bit , be more with your family if you have one, travel if you get a nice pay. It is also not a horrible thing to be lay off. SO you will be fine, relax
Why should anyone who gets an offer share that info with someone else?
Clearly it's nobody else's business.
Some will get offers, some will not.
I suspect those who accept an offer to stay will go under an NDA with commitment not to share their status. I have to believe some people have already received the offer

I am on a Tiger team as well. But there is no guarantee of offer. The entire team could get canned if Hoc does not want to work on that problem.
What is a tiger team?
It's a group of folks put together to solve some problem that has become so large & bad that management actually had to get involved.
It's also generally comprised of the people that caused the problem in the first place.
When they fix the problem they created, they will get congratulations from management for doing a good job.

Offers will be in scheduled blocks not at all once. Most Oct 30th or even later
