Will QC share the demographic of the layoffs? They currently share the age range. I would imagine it is not as diverse and inclusive as HR loves to project….

@1ilh, buoy, the emails felt like the RE agents are still faaar away from dignity!
Over 50, female, and more than 15 years continuous with QC making a good salary was the demographic on this round. Every person I know that fits that demo is now gone.
One of them shocked everyone, and no one knew she was over 50. My BU knew we were going to get hit hard because QC wants to close Santa Clara. I pretty much knew I would be leaving. But it was still disappointing.
You can get some info by logging into a Linux machine and typing 'ph type=terminated' at the terminal (they his terminated types from the browser version of PH years ago). I'd been doing this for years to see who was leaving. QCOM grew so big that sometimes it returns some type of error (script is so old it can handle how big Qualcomm grew!), but after a few tries it works.
Majority of folks impacted in this round are junior engineers, so mostly temp visa holders or student visa holders.
At Q, temporary work visa employees are safe during layoffs
Many H1B and L1 holders got axed…. This company has no moral.
On LinkedIn I saw many H1Bs looking for job post layoff so definitely not true
SWMs will be like a unicorn at QC in a year so. Unless you are already a VP or above….
Engineers with a work visa are not affected.
My whole r&d group got axed. Half Caucasian half asian. Age distribution from mid 30s to late 50s.
Where do they share the demographics or age groups?
Temporary work visa employees aren’t definitely included in this demographic
