Thread regarding VMware layoffs

ragu single sided support email

The message of support from VMware executives felt one-sided. It appeared as though the leadership supports one side while dismissing the other. Could this potentially impact Broadcom's decisions, leading to a focus on one side in hiring and the dismissal of the other?

I know a lot of people from both sides working at VMware, mostly civil, especially in the US, and I understand that mainstream media and politicians can be toxic. However, the impact appears to extend beyond the current situation.

Due to the emotionally charged atmosphere, certain individuals from one side have chosen to limit communication with the other side to prevent potential misunderstandings and disruptions.

People/citizens being ki-led on either side is frankly atrocious.

Also atrocious is accidentally falling into the steaming pile of sh-t that’s the state of conspiracy theory and misinformation that people fall prey to these days. This is why I avoid talking about more than just the weather with people at work. You never know when it will devolve into what has been exhibited here.

CEO frankly should know better or at least proceed with more caution into waters like this.

I am sure he is a nice guy, but Dell definitely wanted someone that wasn't gonna get in the way of selling the company once it was spun off. Dell playing chess while most are playing checkers.

Dell and Broadcom needed someone who wouldn't rock the boat for two years while they sorted the acquisition. He was perfect for that role.

I'd never heard of Raghu until I was hired about two yrs ago. I heard him speak the first time and haven't read an email of his since. He has to be the most Beta CEO ever. I am sure he is a nice guy, but Dell definitely wanted someone that wasn't gonna get in the way of selling the company once it was spun off. Dell playing chess while most are playing checkers.

Someone 'incognito vote' bombed this thread. One person making it appear like the majority shares their opinion.

Magoo wont write these communications he has a whole team and VP to who oversee all that, so yes it should have been more neutral in tone and reflecting suffering on both sides.

On a couple weeks, thousands, maybe tens of thousands of people will be laid off from VMware. Most have helped destroy this once great company in their own ways. Posts like this one remind us that so many deserve what is coming.
