Rumor has it there was a person that was part of the Workforce reduction committed su----e in the RR2 parking lot. Wrote WFR on their car window. Anybody able to confirm or have more details?

Analysis of 1.4 million Glassdoor reviews written by US employees found the top five attributes of toxic workplace cultures – the terms that had the biggest negative impact on the website’s five-point scale – to be disrespectful, non-inclusive, unethical, cut-throat and abusive.
Sound like Dell work culture?
Older white men are expandable. He was privileged. That’s what HR taught me.
Maybe most are not aware but if MD wants the press to leave this alone, they will. Kirk Lawrence, an older white man has ki-led himself on campus after getting WFR'ed.. it's not good press and it will be swept under the rug. That's just how it is. This is the world we live in and the company we work for.
I was at dell during Covid. What they did to the employees was mentally draining. They said they cared about it but the actions were opposite. Managers pushed very hard, worked evenings, weekends with no days off for several years, even though I spoke with my manager about the mental toll. no work life balance what so ever. I left and am happy for it. Good luck to all who work there. It’s not worth it.
Can someone send this press please?
A lot of true sentiments in this post. Stagnant positions despite growth. No promos. Tight field budgets. Ba----dizing sales processes.
The work force reductions are bandaids to a larger issue of Dell’s debt obligations.
So while sales continues to grow the business every year, they’re being asked to do more and more with less resources.
The lay offs have stripped a large amount of institutional knowledge. There is so much ambiguity in a company that has every technology product under the sun. For anyone who has been at the company less than 3 years, it’s impossible to navigate without resources. Everyone is stretched thin. The stock price might look good, but the company is a water balloon with thousands of tiny holes.
I no longer feel safe going to any campus. I would prefer remain at home from here on out. Everyone commuting now probably feels similar.
I'm just grateful I got out. Some family believed I was being "dramatic" about how toxic it was there, but you can just feel it.
Sorry to those who were terrified by this, and the person who lost their life. Always choose yourself, Noooo company is worth all this. Especially NOT Dell of all places.
It said WFR I'm too old to start over. dell screwing people over again it was bound to happen tou work your whole life for a company that will just throw you under a rug.
To: All Dell Technologies team members in Texas
Team,
With a heavy heart, I want to inform you of a tragedy involving a former team member that occurred in our Round Rock campus parking lot Friday morning. According to the local law enforcement’s preliminary investigation, the individual died by su----e.
On Friday, we reached out to all team members who badged into the Round Rock campus to assure them of their safety as they left the premises.
Should you need support, our Employee Assistance Program is here to help. EAP is free and confidential. I have previously used EAP-like programs and can personally speak to their importance and value. You can access EAP here.
Please keep the friends and family of our former team member in your thoughts as our community mourns this tragedy.
John Scimone
President, Chief Security Officer
Can confirm. We received an email about it this morning. Very sad.

Yes can verify couldn’t read whole sign but it was something like WFR and too old.
Anyone else at the Round Rock Facility that can verify this?
Watch his widow get screwed out of benefits because the victim had a firearm on campus.
How has this not been mentioned in the news anywhere? Like a proper legitimate website?
Mental health and pressure was mentioned by some colleagues I know personally in Tell Dell.
It was also mentioned by senior leadership and then never mentioned again.
We will do better is all they said.
The pressure some are under is immense and slowly turning the sc--w is making it worse.
I personally had some issues with a manager last year and had some terrible months and thoughts to the stage I had considered similar.
When you are told you are no good on a regular basis you start to believe it.
Once I realised that my family meant more than a multi national who couldnt care less about me I started to feel better.
I hope a severance package is on the way for me but maybe this person had a different set of circumstances.
Dell should be ashamed of themselves.
They talk about mental health but treat staff like a frog in warm water and slowly bring to the boil.
The main thing in Dells eyes is the shareholders not staff.
I pray for this persons loved ones and cant imagine the pain they are going through.
My thoughts and prayers are with them in this hard time.
What you say is true but corporations should put their employees in higher priority than their investors and executives who just want to make more money during an economic crisis. I'm not saying capitalism is the root of all evil here but the level of corporate hypocrisy is ridiculous.
If you put greed to aside, you can retain headcount. Our world has become so apathetic. This incident should be a wake up call to show that individuals like me and you work to survive and provide, not because we are a waste of resources to the company. The company makes BILLIONS of dollars every few months. The amount of cashflow Dell has is so large that they can rebuild after a nuclear war. But no, instead of trying to retain headcount, they're going to dump that money into dividends and buy backs. I've heard a CEO literally once say, "We have to layoff to keep our investors interested in our company." Like come on...
I hope the family sues Dell for every penny that they got.
This is a badge of shame that will hunt Dell for years. No one should work for this hellhole of a company.
Please, if anyone is having these type of thoughts, know that a job is a job. It’s definitely not worth your life—especially at Dell. You can get another job. There are so many things you can do. I know firsthand.
Even if losing your job sets you back, it’s just that: a setback. It can take you in a direction that you never imagined and may love it!
I heard this is true as well and anyone who badges into campus Friday received an email—referring to it as an “incident.”
I can’t confirm any of the specifics of why or how it transpired. So sad.
I’ve not seen any credible news sites reporting it, just 3 sites that regurgitated the same details including this one which appears to be completely done via ChatGPT.

OMG this is so sad, I hope his family get the strength to cope up with the loss
Coverage is starting to show up in the news.

No, these parties may not be responsible but the terrible morale, the constant fear of losing a job for the last two+ years and the dismissive and robotic way Dell lays individuals off >>> 100% contributes to the rapid increase of poor mental health in RR. Upper leadership are undeniably tone death and have an old school approach to new day issues that DO NOT work. There has been ZERO opportunity for growth at Dell in 2+ yrs, no raises/promos, but you better believe they mandate RTO like it moves the needle for what!!?? Execs sit unscathed with pockets full of cash, still traveling around aimlessly with a “get onboard or leave approach” easy to say when money keeps growing on those hypocritical trees they have at the top. Field sales are told to skip a meal and take customers to coffee or let partner’s pay…like that’s normal?? Inside sales are told to just be happy they have a job…how gross is that? If the IT market wasn’t so saturated most of Dell would be gone. If an individual committing su----e on their very own campus doesn’t change their ignorant and pompous behavior, then they should be faced with some major pushback and uproar from their employees. It’s time for upper mgmt to get a wake up call. Walk out, protest, leave the halls of our offices empty. This is not a company that values it’s ppl and it’s time that that changes.
This is insanely sad and awful, but if you off yourself after escaping Dell He-l, then you’ve got some pretty big contributing factors and mental illness going on, Dell or their leader or their team isn’t responsible, even if very toxic.
Round rock building 2 adjacent to street. He was intending on it being a message with his name and workforce reduction on a sign next to his body. Tons of people around like fire, ems. Some other employees, nothing on any media though.
Where did this happen? Someone needs to leak this to the media
Oh my god!!! I truly hope the team that made him redundant are held responsible for this.
I hope the mgr or the coworker who backstabbed him to kick him out, gets their karma.
I was driving back from lunch to rr3, saw the immediate aftermath with ems arriving. Traffic was slow and funnelled into turn lane. Was able to see the man and the sign. A security guy who drives around in white suv looked distraught. Victim had his full name and "workforce reduction" written on what looked like a poster board and mounted on back of truck. He was a pre-sales professional, not in directory anymore. I've been quite shaken all day, as he probably worked in RR3 too. I didn't know him personally.
Yes, it is true.
Not funny at all
