Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Which is better

Option 1 - 12 year associate with a vast amount of knowledge located remotely making 60k a year and working with other team members via teams?

Option 2 - brand new associate who knows nothing located in Berkeley Heights making 95k a year and working with other team members via teams?

Clearly Frank the tank is getting kickbacks!

15 Happy hours per week? Are you looking forward to your intervention?

I like being remote in Ohio. Get in a long early morning run, get on line around lunch then stay connected via phone during happy hour. Probably a solid 15 per week.

It’s crazy and makes no logical sense. 23 years here

Option 3: get 2 maybe even 3 people for that single price in India or Eastern Europe...

If the younger workers are paying attention, and I know they are, they'll tell Frank to EABOD when asked to relocate. I did.

I like option 3. GTFO and find something that pays better and isn't a total sh!tshow.

Age discrimination the IBM way - they tried it too. Order staff to move or be fired. Young staffers, in a rent apartment, can do so easily. Older folks tend to have a mortgage, family and solid roots in to the ground. Hard for them to move. So ..... the old ones go bye-bye and the younger pups move. See, Easy.

Frank could care less about anyone, but himself and his wallet share. Rather than move himself to the headquarters location, he much prefers to have people up-route their lives and move to BH which he lives minutes from.

You're forgetting the cost of living when comparing current location to BH. $60k may go further in Ohio versus scraping by at $95k in NJ.

Take that into consideration that it's NJ and the NE in general is expensive. I'd rather go to a new company where I can be flexible and be paid more for my knowledge.

"How hard is it to count chairs and parking spots?"
This would require forward thinking on their part and if you have been a part of any project in the last three+ years you would know forward thinking is not part of the plan. Their approach is ready...fire...aim which never hits your target (project goals) and wastes a lot of ammo (peoples time).

Option 3 - Leave and go to a company that values your time, effort and knowledge.

I don’t know who keeps posting about Ohio, but I’m an Ohio remote worker who is going to lose my job unless I move to BH. My whole team and a few hundred others from Ohio are in the same boat. There is a small contingent in Ohio I’m told are safe and will work in an Ohio office, but they e done nothing but lie to us about that office. It doesn’t exist and isn’t being built yet. Doesn’t matter, a bunch of us don’t have seats there if they ever do.

I’m shocked how little people know about the number of Ohio based associates working from home. It’s easily more than 10% of the US based org. And they NEVER have to relocate.

Option 1 - Why ?,… because who the f@&k would want to work in BH!

I mean, it’s well known there’s a tax break associated with butts in seats in BH.

Better for the client and coworkers? Option 1. Better for Fiserv? Probably still option 1.
