Thread regarding Siemens layoffs

Is a Recession coming that will result in layoffs?

Our managers have been discussing and planning for a of a very bad recession coming to the U.S. in 2024 with rumors of significant layoffs. Especially around the Covid panic hires. We are already short staffed at the branch and can’t afford further reductions. Has anyone heard of layoffs coming next year?

Who knows? They been saying since 2019 a recession was looming and the end was coming. As long as the government continues to play with interest rates and print money, they can kick the can down the road for a few more years but eventually the entire system will fall apart. Geopolitical struggles may be the lynchpin that sends the economy tumbling. Can’t worry about things out of our control. Keep life simple and you should be ok.

Stock market doubled in 4 years, home prices doubled in 3 years, consumer goods doubled in 3 years and salaries haven’t increased at all…. Yes I would say it’s only a matter of time before there is a massive market correction and yes layoffs in certain areas will follow.
